They seriously work in my head. I think because they both have a bit of a meshing thing. Hotrod thinks he is the shit, but can't quite back it up. Springer... well, can. XD

So maybe it's a little more that they have a relationship where Springer has Hotrod under his wing. And the sex?

Such shameless and complete and utter love in movie-verse. Even in spite of Bay's... Bay-ittude and determination to not have actual mech characterization, they have fantastic snark and are always beside each other.

Retconned into G1, seems more like old, best friends. >3
